Physicochemical properties of three chromium chloride
Sep 19, 2018

Chromium trichloride is mostly purple monoclinic crystal, chromium ion is in the octahedral space formed by chloride ion on the hexahedron. The relative density is 1.76g/cm3, the melting point is 83 degrees, and the density is 2.87.

It is easy to deliquescence, soluble in water, purple in dilute solution, green in concentrated solution, and pH in 0.2mol/L solution is 2.4. Soluble in alcohol, slightly soluble in acetone, almost insoluble in ether.

Stable at room temperature and atmospheric pressure to avoid light, open fire and high temperature. Sublimate at 950 degrees Celsius and decompose at 1300 degree Celsius.
