Potassium Permanganate

Potassium permanganate is black-purple, slender, prismatic crystals or particles with a blue metallic luster; odorless; easy to explode in contact with certain organic substances or oxides, soluble in water, alkali, slightly soluble in methanol, acetone, sulfuric acid, molecular formula KMnO4, molecular weight 158.03400. Melting point is 240 degree C, stable, but contact with flammable materials may cause fire. The substances to be avoided include reductants, strong acids, organic materials, flammable materials, peroxides, alcohols and chemically active metals.
